Abstract

Averroes (1126 - 1198) was a great philosopher and the history of Muslim Thought is not complete without mentioning him. Muslim World has been following al-Ghazali (1058 - 1111). After him, Averroes tried hard to stimulate Muslim thought, as he watched it freeze. Now it can be looked to comparing him to the West that he was much clear in the belief of the monotheism of the Almighty and the sanctity of the Prophet, and in rejecting the Atheism, Humiliation of the Prophet, denial of Hadith, Apostasy and Antichrist or False Prophet hood. Western Civilization has become a religion with its secular believes and interferes in religious issues. In the Middle Ages, the religious teachings were neglected and the West own the believes of Rationalism, Secularism, Humanism and Materialism etc.
